Arrivals are on the ground floor, international and domestic departures are on the second floor, and the business center and VIP lounges are on the third floor. You’ll find a range of services, including complimentary WiFi and charging stations, duty-free shops, restaurants, currency exchange and ATMs, post office, car rentals, ground transportation, and hotel counters.
How To Get to and From Venice Airport
By Car
The ease of Venice airport car rental will make your Italian adventure a breeze. The Venice Marco Polo Airport car rental office is on the third terrace of the P1 parking garage. This provides a seamless transition from the terminal to your vehicle. With various rental car Venice airport options, such as Europcar and Sixt, you can independently explore this stunning city. The Venice airport to Venice city center distance is approximately 14 kilometers or just over eight miles. The drive takes around 20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
By Bus
Traveling from Venice city center to Marco Polo Airport by bus is accessible and cost-effective. You can catch the ATVO or ACTV bus at Piazzale Roma, a central transportation hub in the heart of Venice. Purchase your tickets quickly and easily at the ATVO or ACTV ticket office. Alternatively, you can use the company’s automatic ticket machines at various locations throughout the city. ACTV Line 5 takes 30-45 minutes, while the express ATVO bus gets you to the city center in about 20 minutes. On average, ticket prices range from €8-10. Both bus lines depart every 20-30 minutes.
By Taxi
Getting to and from Venice Marco Polo Airport by taxi is a convenient option. You can easily find Venice airport taxis from the city center at Piazzale Roma. After arriving at the Venice Italy airport, you’ll find taxis available just outside the arrivals terminal. Taxi fare between the Marco Polo airport and Venice city center typically ranges from €35 to €45. The journey usually takes around 20-30 minutes. Be aware that taxis in Venice only go as far as Piazzale Roma, the final point for vehicle traffic in the city’s lagoon area. From there, you can continue to your final destination via ferry, water taxi, or on foot.
By Train
Venice has two main train stations. Santa Lucia is the main Venice train station, offering domestic and international train services. Mestre is where you’ll find the Venice People Mover, an automated shuttle train connecting Piazzale Roma, the Marittima cruise terminal, and Tronchetto Island. However, the airport Venice Marco Polo does not have a train terminal. You’ll need to take an ACTV city bus or ATVO airport express bus for train connections from Marco Polo Airport. To get to Santa Lucia Station, take the ACTV urban bus route Line 5 or ATVO Venezia Express. For Mestre Station, use ACTV urban bus route 15 or AVTO Mestre Express. Tickets usually cost €8-10.
By Boat

The boat ride to the heart of Venice takes approximately 30 minutes, depending on your pickup or drop-off location. A private water taxi costs around €100-120. Shared water taxis are more affordable, with fares around €40 per person. However, travelers are usually limited to one piece of luggage per passenger on shared boats. Another option is the Alilaguna Vaporetto, a water bus running from Marco Polo to the historic city center, the island of Murano, the Lido di Venezia, and the Marittima cruise terminals. There are three lines: blue (airport to San Marco Square and cruise terminal via Murano and Lido di Venezia), orange (airport to Rialto and Santa Maria del Giglio), and red (airport to Murano, Lido di Venezia, and San Marco from April to November). The water taxi from Venice airport to the city center takes about an hour and 15 minutes, and an hour and 50 minutes to the cruise terminal. Tickets cost €15 each way.

Treviso Airport is approximately 40 kilometers (25 miles) north of Venice’s city center. It’s a journey of around an hour and 15 minutes by bus or 40 minutes by car.
